One of our favorite moments every week is when our phones magically and randomly share a collage of pictures and videos of our family.
It fills us with memories, nostalgia and love.
This week, at its Worldwide Developers Conference, Apple announced “Apple Intelligence”, which will allow us to create this at any time.
We could say "Show me every picture from 2022 of our boys in the water" - and it will show their swimming lessons, beach days, and maybe even rainstorms.
This is tip of the iceberg.
Apple’s last big announcement changed the way we work: the iPhone introduced a minicomputer in our pocket.
Their latest announcement has the potential to drive global adoption of Artificial Intelligence in our lives.

4 THINGS YOU NEED TO KNOW FROM APPLE'S ANNOUNCEMENT:
1. Broad distribution and adoption:
With over 2 billion devices, Apple has more potential than almost any other company to integrate AI into people’s lives.
Anyone with an iPhone 15 pro or later (or an iMac or iPad with an M1 chip) will get the new AI features when they’re rolled out right away.
Others will be able to access it over time as they upgrade their devices.
2. Removal of friction:
The operating system (OS) of the devices will be integrated with AI and it will be FREE (for now).
3. Integrate your personal data:
All your data will have access to AI and create better experiences for users.
With a voice or text command, AI will search your apps, emails, texts to find whatever you need.
Example: “When is mom’s flight coming in?”
AI will look through your text with Mom and email with flight information and then go on the Internet to tell you she’s 45 minutes late. 🧠
4. Improve productivity:
New functionality gets introduced including summarising your lenghthy emails, scheduling your text messages, and changing the tone of your note to sound “nicer” when you said it to “Bill”.
Your outputs in work and in life become more effective and efficient.
The challenge for Apple
The biggest challenge we see becomes security.
Will people be willing to give access to their personal data?
Our guess is that we will.
We more or less do that today anyway.
Think of what most of us give now to Facebook, Google, Apple, etc… (all the time we blindly scroll and engage, or accept the terms and conditions without actually reading them).
The answer will eventually depend on the benefits of the efficiencies we get versus the cost of providing our data.
Apple has clearly stated security is a priority, and they believe having a personal cloud of data through their devices will allow them to be a leader in this space.
One thing is clear:
If you are not paying attention to this space, you will not be able to take advantage of it.
Like it or not, it may be only a few months until 100s of millions of people are introduced to AI, and not long until billions are using it daily.
