We just had an amazing week in Fiji, and it was such a great opportunity to slow down & relax as a family.

Time away always gives us that chance to step back and think more clearly about what really matters in our businesses.

Steve was soaking in a +3 hour podcast with entrepreneur and investor Naval Ravikant, and there were a few timeless concepts that really stuck.

They reminded us of how we approach challenges, decisions, and growth in our business—and we wanted to share them with you.

Here’s what we heard, and how we’re thinking about it:

6 TIMELESS INSIGHTS THAT WILL CHANGE THE WAY YOU DO BUSINESS

1. Inspiration hits? Act now! It fades.

When inspiration strikes, don’t wait.

We all know how quickly those exciting ideas can slip away if we don’t act on them in the moment.

The energy and enthusiasm fade, but if you take even the smallest step toward bringing your idea to life, you keep the momentum going.

2. Can’t decide? It’s a hard NO.

We’ve all been there—torn between two options, unsure which direction to go.

But here’s the truth: when you’re really stuck, it’s your sign to walk away.

If it’s unclear, it’s probably not right.

3. Success is 2 parts: Get what you want + want the right things.

Success isn’t just about achieving your goals—it’s about making sure the goals you’re setting are the right ones.

It’s easy to go after the wrong things just because they seem achievable, but true success comes when your goals align with what’s truly important to you.

4. Mastery isn’t 10,000 hours—it’s 10,000 tries. Fail, tweak, win.

Mastery doesn’t come from a fixed number of hours; it comes from continuous effort.

Success is a cycle of failing, learning, and trying again.

That’s where the growth happens—through the process, not just the hours.

5. Short term pessimism, long term optimism: Plan for hiccups. Expect success.

There will always be bumps in the road, but that doesn’t mean you should let them derail you.

Expect success, but also plan for the challenges that will inevitably come your way.

6. Use your brain for easy decisions, use your gut differently for tough ones. Know the difference.

For everyday decisions, rely on logic and your rational mind.

But when things get tough, trust your gut—it’s a different kind of wisdom.

Bottom Line:

As business owners, it's easy to get caught up in the day-to-day grind.

But sometimes, it's essential to take a step back and think about the timeless ideas that shape how we succeed.

Naval’s insights have been a great reminder for us, and we hope they offer some clarity for you as well.

Stay aligned with the principles that matter most, and you'll keep building something meaningful and lasting.
