Hi all,

Steve here.

In my early 20s, I invested a little under $10,000 USD in Microsoft at $25 per share.

I never sold and still hold those shares today.

They currently trade at $318.

I made +1,200% and I still wish I'd done things differently.

Why?

There was a better investment to make.

And there's a better one for you to make too.

It's you.

I firmly believe investing in yourself should be #1 in your portfolio.

It is in mine, and I'm going to share why.

But wait, there's more...

As a bonus, we're sharing 2 extras today:

  • The 3 investments that gave us better returns than Microsoft, AND
  • Access to pre-register for a FREE course we're launching next month to help you invest in yourself.

Read to the end to take advantage of the offer.

WHY INVESTING IN YOURSELF BELONGS AT THE TOP OF YOUR PORTFOLIO

1. It gives the best return on investment (ROI):

Getting 5%-10% a year is great in the stock market or even as a raise.

Chances are you're not achieving this in the current market.

The best ROI will always be in yourself, your skills, your experiences, and the people you surround yourself with.

In 2021, Lynne invested over $15k in coaching and personal development.

It's led to more than a 10x return already and will keep growing every single year.

2. It's NOT a cost, it's an investment:

Too many people look at spending money on themselves as a cost.

Buying *stuff* you don't need? That's a cost.

Buying education, mentoring, coaching, and training with a great ROI?

That's an investment.

The biggest roadblock to overcome is reframing your thinking when looking at the price.

Instead of "this costs me $X", think "I'm spending $X to earn $Y".

Y is bigger than X, you're not spending, you're investing.

If Y has exponential returns over time, you're investing smartly.

3. Time is NOT your friend:

"The best time to start was yesterday. The next best time now."

- Unknown

Financial freedom rewards compounding interest in money, knowledge, and leverage.

If you're not taking action now, you're wasting valuable time.

Every year is an opportunity to build and grow to progress into your next step.

Get to it!

OK - So what's been my best investment?

The top investments in my career have NOT been the properties we own, the equities we hold, or the other assets in our portfolio.

Here they are:

A. I invested in mentoring and coaching:

I made my first million with the help of mentors and coaches, not on my own.

And I'm not an anomaly: did you know the average millionaire has had 7 mentors and coaches before they made their 1st million?

Find at least 1 person who's independent, has walked the path you want to walk, and can push you to be the best version of yourself.

B. I invested in skills and building experience:

I spent, and still spend, copious time looking for my skills gaps and filling them.

5 years ago, I knew a gap was experience in running the operation of a major transport business.

So I filled it - positioning me today to use that experience in my coaching & consulting work.

Figure out the skills that will uniquely position you for your next role or step in your business, and invest in them.

C. I invested in my network:

My career outcomes were almost always accelerated by the network I had.

Most of us wait until we want something to reach out to our network.

Instead, your network should be a proactive investment in building relationships before you ask for anything.

That way, it will be there for you when you need it.

For the action takers:

Next month, we're launching a FREE networking course so you can start investing in yourself and your network.

We developed this course because it saddens us that most people don't achieve their goals.

And they often fall short because they don't have a great network that can open doors, mentor, and support them.

This course will help you never be in that bucket again.

It gives you everything you need to unlock the power of a great network so you can kick your goals.

If you want this too, pre-register by emailing us at [email protected] or via our Contact Us page.

We'll share more in coming newsletters.

In the meantime, use this issue as a push to start your next steps!

You got this!
