THE REPLACEMENT: 5 MINUTES TO GROW YOUR BUSINESS
As a business owner, you probably know your business better than anyone.
You probably know what you're doing well and what you're not.
You probably know what you need to focus on.
You probably know what you should do to grow.
You just need to take time out from the daily tasks of running the business and write down the advice you would give yourself.
Here's how:
1. Set the scene:
- Imagine you'll be away for the next 6 months.
- You find a replacement to run your business while you’re gone.
- You don’t know the replacement, but you can safely assume they have all the skills they need to smash any challenge you give them.
- The only thing they need is a specific growth goal for your business (nothing else).
2. Brief your replacement:
- Write down the specific growth objective you will be giving to your replacement.
3. Write down their plan of attack:
- What’s the first thing your replacement needs to do in your role to achieve the growth objective you’ve set?
- What are the next 5 steps or activities they would need to accomplish?
There you have it!
You’ve written out the goal to achieve.
You’ve written out the activities required.
Now it's up to you, not an actual replacement, to action it.
Here's the next step:
Sometimes you need more than your own advice.
