Our goal is to pack each issue with actionable insights that make a real difference in achieving
your career goals.

With this in mind, we wanted to share our Career Accelerator's Checklist to help you start
doing exactly that.

Let's get into it:

This is the checklist we wish we had 10 years ago.

It covers everything that will most help move the dial for you, and what's often missed by
driven professionals who want to take the next step.

The thing is, knowing what to do is hard enough.
It's a lot harder to do.
And it's even harder to do consistently.

Based on this, we've included both thinking and doing tasks across 4 categories;
1. CLARITY: Determine what you're aiming for and what you need to do.
2. CONNECTION: Build relationships with others who will support you.
3. CONFIDENCE: Establish the confidence to do it.
4. PROGRESS: Take action to move yourself forward.

The checklist is below for you, but if you prefer an editable version with room for notes,

THE CAREER ACCELERATOR'S CHECKLIST


1. CLARITY

⬜ I know what I want from my career: I have clear, specific short-term goals and a long-term
vision
⬜ I know the underlying reasons my goals are important to me (e.g. set an example for my kids,
obtain financial freedom, make a meaningful difference, etc.)
⬜ I know the value I offer and what's most remarkable about who I am & what I do
⬜ I know the skills and strengths I must develop in order to achieve my goals
⬜ I know what my personal brand is, and what it needs to become, in order to achieve my goals


2. CONNECTION

⬜ I have a strong, active network that I proactively nurture and grow
⬜ I know the people I need to influence, and what I need to communicate to them, so they
proactively support my career goals
⬜ I have the skills to connect with others and form mutually beneficial relationships


3. CONFIDENCE

⬜ I'm making decisions and taking action based on what's important to me
⬜ I seek out opportunities to share my work, present and speak publicly
⬜ I don't avoid expressing my views and suggestions due to nervousness or fear
⬜ I don't shy away from advocating for myself and my career
⬜ I proactively and continuously seek out feedback on my performance and personal brand
⬜ I enjoy being challenged because I know that's how I learn and grow


4. PROGRESS

⬜ I am consistently taking steps towards my goals, including taking calculated risks
⬜ I have the right habits, environment and strategies to help me keep on track
⬜ I have a coach, mentor or accountability partner who cares more about me achieving my
goals than protecting my ego
⬜ I'm part of a community that I can learn from, and that encourages and pushes me
when all of the above feels too hard
⬜ I have the discipline and motivation to work on each of the aspects above



How did you go?!

When we first did it, we could only check off about half each, so don't worry if there
were a bunch of items you're not ticking off yet.

Use anything unticked to choose what to focus on to move your career forward.
