As you know, we’re all about setting up for success - and what better time than now?

If you’re still easing back in after the holidays and want to set yourself up for a solid 2025, today we’re sharing our favourite approach.

It’s a mix of reflection, planning, and action, and it helps us get and stay focused and energised throughout the year.

Here’s how we do it—and how you can too:

THE 4 STEPS TO PLAN FOR 2025

1. Reflect on Where You’re At—Personally and Professionally

Before jumping into goal-setting, it’s helpful to take a moment and reflect on where you are right now.

What were your wins in 2024?

What challenges did you face, and how did you work through them?

This isn’t just about business—think about your personal life too.

How are you feeling physically, emotionally, and mentally?

Understanding where you’re starting from gives you the clarity you need to move forward.

When we did this exercise, we were happy with how we’ve balanced work and family, and we want to keep that momentum in 2025.

In our business, we’ve grown our client base, but we noticed we could professionalise some of our marketing.

2. Define What You Want to Achieve—Personally and Professionally

Now that you’ve reflected on where you are, it’s time to look ahead.

What do you want to achieve in 2025—both in your business and your personal life?

Be ambitious, but also realistic.

Your goals should excite you but also be achievable.

Whether it’s growing your business, improving your health, or making more time for family, get clear on what you want and make sure the goals are actionable.

For us, we’re focusing on making more lasting memories with our boys through out-of-the-norm experiences (it's so easy to get stuck in the normal routine!).

Professionally, we’re committed to maintaining our client base and refining our marketing.

3. Break It Down into Sub-Goals or Priorities for the Next 3 Months

Big goals are great, but they can feel overwhelming.

So, break them down into smaller, more manageable sub-goals for the first quarter.

E.g.:

  • If your goal is to grow your client base by 20%: In the first quarter, focus on refining your marketing materials, setting up outreach campaigns, and connecting with past clients for referrals.
  • If your goal is more family time: Set clear boundaries around work hours and schedule one non-negotiable family day or evening each week.

Keep things small and simple to get the ball rolling.

Building momentum early on will help you achieve bigger goals later in the year.

4. Schedule It In Your Calendar and Take Action

Once you’ve broken your goals down, it’s time to schedule them.

Action is where the magic happens, so commit time every week to focus on your priorities.

For example, if you want to boost sales, block out time in the mornings for outreach or to work on your marketing strategy.

If work-life balance is your priority, schedule those regular breaks and family dinners, making them non-negotiable.

Bonus: Choose a Theme Word for the Year

Lynne really likes to pick a word for the year, giving her a theme to focus on going forward.

This year, her word is CALM.

It’s about avoiding getting caught up in the hustle and focus on being intentional with her time and energy.

If you had a word for 2025, what would it be?

Maybe it’s GROWTH, BALANCE, or SIMPLICITY.

Have a think, then let it be the guiding principle that keeps you on track and aligned with your bigger vision.

Bottom Line:

Take the time to reflect, define your goals, break them down into manageable actions, and take consistent steps every day.

These steps will keep you motivated, organised, and focused on success.

Here’s to an incredible 2025! Let’s make it your best year yet.
